John Yanulis serves as MSH’s Managing Portfolio Director, overseeing the organization’s teams responsible for new opportunity management and for oversight and programmatic and operational support of MSH’s entire portfolio of projects across Africa, Asia, and Europe. In this role, Mr. Yanulis provides strategic leadership and management support to project directors, ensuring programs deliver high-quality results and are executed timely and within budget. He has extensive experience and success in building local leadership capacity and improving local health system performance.
Mr. Yanulis has more than 25 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing complex international development programs in the areas of primary health care, family planning, HIV and AIDS, water and sanitation, and civil society strengthening in countries such as Madagascar, Benin, and Nigeria. Previously, he served as MSH’s Chief of Party for the USAID-funded ACCESS program and the USAID Mikolo Project, where he led the implementation of activities designed to reduce maternal, infant, and child mortality in Madagascar. Prior to joining MSH, he served in a variety of leadership roles on complex public health programs. He holds a Master’s degree in Organization Development from American University and the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science.
