Neelam Makhijani

As MSH India Country Director, Neelam Makhijani oversees the execution of the organization’s strategy and leads the implementation of various projects in collaboration with key stakeholders, such as government and development partners.

An inspiring, empowering, and results-driven professional with over two decades of leadership experience in development across sectors and geographies, Makhijani brings visionary and strategic thinking, creativity, and passion for resource mobilization.

Before MSH, Makhijani served as India and Sri Lanka Country Director for ChildFund International. Prior to that, she was Global CEO of the Resource Alliance in the UK and held senior roles with Help the Aged. As a consultant, Makhijani provided services to various clients, including Oxfam, Sight Savers International, and Brakeley Ltd.

Makhijani has worked in the US, UK, Sri Lanka, and India. She has supported the development sector in more than 30 countries in Asia and Africa, forging strategic alliances, effective communication, and resource development. She serves on various advisory and expert committees, including the Board of Studies of the School of Health Systems Studies at TISS (TATA Institute of Social Sciences), the National Law University Odisha for Healthcare Management Studies, and the TB PPM Group. She holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of East London.
