Paul Bwathondi leads the Client Level Data Systems (CLDS) work stream for the Tanzania Technical Support Services Project (TSSP). Paul brings over 15 years of experience in the field of information systems and ICT. He has worked with the Government of Tanzania, international nongovernmental organizations, and the corporate sector where he led several information systems-related initiatives. Paul began his career in the banking sector in South Africa where he was responsible for information systems development and overseeing information systems-related activities. He later joined the Public Service Reform Program under the World Bank where he oversaw the transformation of civil registration in Tanzania, making the business process more efficient and introducing an electronic civil registration system. Paul received a Bachelor in Computer Science and Information Systems from Rhodes University, South Africa, 2002; a post-graduate honors degree in Informatics from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, 2004; and a Master of Science from the University of Strathclyde, UK, 2007. He is a certified information systems auditor by ISACA.
