Jemal Mohammed Ali

Senior Human Resources Management Advisor, Leadership, Management, and Governance Advisor

Jemal Mohammed Ali, MPH, MA, is the Senior Human Resources Management Advisor and Leadership, Management, and Governance Advisor for the USAID-funded Health Workforce Improvement Program (HWIP) in Ethiopia. Ali has more than 20 years of experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating health, humanitarian, and development projects in Africa. Most recently with MSH, he served as Country Director for the Leadership, Management and Governance (LMG) Project in Ethiopia. With LMG, he led the development of national curricula and manuals on leadership, management and governance, as well as gender in the context of public health within the Ministry of Health. Previously, Ali was the Chief of Party for the MSH-led Sudan Health Transformation Project II (SHTP II) and managed HIV and AIDS programs within Ethiopia for organizations such as Oxfam and Save the Children. Ali received a Master of Public Health from the University of Brussels and Masters of Arts in Logistics and Supply Management at Addis Ababa University. He is a published author and speaks fluent Amharic and English and basic Arabic and French.
