Launch of the Community Health Planning and Costing Tool 2.0

UNICEF, in partnership with Management Sciences for Health (MSH), is pleased to launch Version 2.0 of the Community Health Planning and Costing Tool. To date, the tool and the accompanying processes described in its Handbook have been used by governments and non-governmental organizations in Angola, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Zanzibar.

The Community Health Planning and Costing Tool 2.0, now available in English and French, is user-friendly, open-source, and spreadsheet-based. The tool calculates key results on costs and required financing for the introduction, maintenance, or scale-up of community programs at national and subnational levels for five years. The dynamic nature of this tool allows users to modify key variables and identify the corresponding impact on program costs.
