Alick Mtika, deputy chief of party, is a seasoned development, management, and accounting professional with 18 years of senior-level management experience in international development projects, having worked for USAID, the UN Development Program, and a number of international nongovernmental organizations. A strong strategic thinker and team builder, Alick brings deep expertise in office set-up, financial and personnel management, audit management, procurement, budget development and implementation, grant and contract administration, monitoring, evaluation, and project close-out. Alick has also served as a local consultant to the Malawi Government on a four-member Grant Management Solutions team, providing short-term technical assistance to the Malawi Global Fund Coordinating Committee to strengthen its capacity to carry out a full range of oversight functions and help the government qualify for funding under the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. From Malawi, Alick holds a BA in Accounting and an MA in Economics, both from the University of Malawi.
