Jane Briggs, Senior Principal Technical Advisor at MSH, leads the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health portfolio of the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program. Briggs provides technical support on initiatives to improving access to and use of medicines for maternal and child health at the global as well as country level. In addition, she serves as Technical Strategy Lead on USAID's Improving Market Partnerships and Access to Commodities Together (IMPACT) project, led by Population Services International. A pharmacist with over 25 years of experience, Briggs has been with MSH since 2001, primarily working in the area of child health. Prior to joining MSH, she worked as a research assistant at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and in Tanzania, Burundi, and Rwanda. Briggs started her career in health and development as the district pharmacist in northwest Tanzania, going from clinic to clinic on a motorbike. In addition to her pharmacy degree, she holds a master's in community health. Briggs is a native English speaker, fluent in French, Spanish, and Swahili.
