Dereje Habte is a medical doctor with over 20 years of experience as a clinician, trainer, researcher and health manager. As director of M&E and operations research for HEAL TB, Dereje is responsible for the development and management of a project-wide M&E system. He designs and implements operational research, conducts data analysis, and prepares articles for publication. He also assists the Federal Ministry of Health and regional health bureaus in analyzing data and utilizing the evidence for program improvement. Prior to joining MSH, Dereje worked as a clinician and health manager at district, refugee camp, and private medical centers in Ethiopia. He also served as a program manager for the HIV/AIDS Program with Family Health International and for blindness prevention programs with ORBIS International and The Carter Center. He has extensive experience in health program management, M&E, teaching, and research. Dereje holds an MD and MPH from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
