    John H. Masterson

    John H. Masterson is the former Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Covidien, a publicly traded medical device and supply company that was acquired by Medtronic, Inc., in 2015. In this position, he was responsible for all legal and government affairs relating to Covidien’s businesses, including providing legal advice to senior management on business and commercial issues, overseeing litigation matters, leading mergers and acquisitions, and managing FDA/regulatory legal issues and international matters.

    Masterson joined Covidien’s predecessor company, Kendall Healthcare Products, in 1993 and was named Chief Legal Officer in 1999. Previously, he was a junior partner at the law firm of Nutter, McClennen & Fish in Boston. He received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from New York University Law School. Masterson and his wife, Donna, reside in Boston, MA, and have three children.
