    Kathleen A. Alvarez

    Senior Manager

    Mrs. Kathleen Alvarez, is a Portfolio Director in the Health Programs Group of Management Sciences for Health (MSH).  In this role, Ms. Alvarez is responsible for overseeing the Global Fund Malaria Grant and the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) Project in Nigeria, the PEPFAR funded HIV and AIDS focused CaTSS Project in Nigeria and other MSH projects in Africa and Latin America. Kathleen joined MSH in 2000, began her involvement with MSH work in Nigeria in 2008 and has held a number of different positions with MSH both overseas and in headquarters. Prior to joining MSH, Kathleen was the Founding Country Director for Pro Mujer Nicaragua, an international women’s microfinance and health organization, led programs in Central America as the Assistant Director of Coffee Kids, an NGO focused on corporate social responsibility in the coffee sector, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia. Kathleen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Development. Kathleen is fluent in Spanish and speaks basic French.
