    Shelemo Shawula Kachara, M.D.

    Senior Technical Advisor

    Dr. Shelemo Shawula, a senior public health practitioner, worked with the USAID-funded Strengthening Human Resources for Health (HRH) project in Ethiopia to provide leadership, technical oversight, and administration for improved human resources for health management at national, regional and local levels in Ethiopia. Dr. Shawula has 15 years cumulative experience in health services delivery and management, human resources for health, performance improvement, building leadership and management capacity for the government and NGOs in Africa. Before coming to MSH, he served as an Organizational Development (OD) specialist working with PEPFAR-funded New Partners Initiative (NPI) project in Kampala, Uganda where he provided OD and program management technical support to community and faith-based organizations in Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Haiti and Uganda to strengthen the implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support. He has more than 10 years’ experience in program management, governance and leadership development in public and private health sectors contexts; formulation and implementation operational policies; planning, monitoring, evaluation, and program learning, standard-based performance and quality management.
