Aida Kurtovic

Global Partnerships Lead

Aida Kurtovic, Global Partnerships Lead, has more than 20 years of experience leading global health partnerships, governance, and policy engagement across civil society and multilateral institutions.

Kurtovic has held senior leadership and governance roles in some of the world’s leading global health institutions. She previously served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and as a Board Member of The Pandemic Fund representing Global South civil society organizations. Her experience spans strategic partnership development, governance, policy advocacy, and organizational leadership across Europe and globally.

She has also served as Executive Director of the South Eastern Europe Regional TB and HIV Community Network and held leadership positions with Partnerships in Health/Partnerstvo za Zdravlje, Foundation PH Suisse, and Project HOPE. In addition to her executive leadership experience, Kurtovic has contributed to national and international policy and technical guidance, including co-authoring national HIV counseling and testing protocols, clinical treatment guidelines, and HIV/AIDS prevention and control strategies. She has contributed to numerous publications and policy resources focused on global health and public health systems strengthening.

Kurtovic was a Visiting Scientist and Harvard LEAD Fellow at the Harvard Global Health Institute and the Women and Health Initiative at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She holds a master’s degree in Management and Organization from a joint program between the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Economics and the Adizes School of Management, and a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law.
