Gordon Kihuguru, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President at MSH, plays a broad and strategic leadership role in the organization’s overall growth and development. He serves as financial advisor and partner to the CEO; Leadership Team; and the Board of Directors, and its audit and finance committees, on matters relating to financial status, risk management, and long-term planning. 

Kihuguru joined MSH in 2017 as regional director for finance and operations, and since then has played a key role in positively transforming the organization’s global financial and operational systems. He has more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership roles in major global NGOs.

Prior to joining MSH, Kihuguru served as the regional finance director for the West Africa region for Save the Children, where he provided compliance and control assurance for 10 West and Central African countries and 1,500 staff. Before that, Kihuguru was the global head of finance and accounting, and regional finance controller at CARE USA, based in Ghana and the Philippines, leading finance and IT teams, training staff on systems and regulations, and leading annual budget planning processes and financial donor reporting. Kihuguru also has worked with Oxfam Great Britain in financial management positions and the International Rescue Committee as a finance controller in Afghanistan.

Kihuguru has an MBA in finance and accounting from Uganda’s Makerere Business University and a bachelor’s degree with honors from Makerere University. He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is pursuing his doctorate DBA/MBA at Unicaf University.
