Outcome Harvesting Evaluation Report Brief: MSH’s Leading and Managing for Results in Pandemics (LMRP) Program

The global response to COVID-19 was fragmented, inequitable, and politicized, making it difficult for decision makers to prepare in advance to mitigate risks; communicate quickly and clearly; mobilize resources; develop partnerships; share epidemiological data; navigate the politics of the response; and adapt as they progressed.

In response to these challenges, MSH and partners developed the Leading and Managing for Results in Pandemics (LMRP) program. This brief, a resource to the MSH LMRP Outcome Harvesting Evaluation Report, is a synopsis of the data-driven improvement process and leadership and management practices used to mobilize stakeholders to enhance public health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. Delivered through a blend of digital and in-person learning, customized for teams of health workers in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Peru, Rwanda, and Uganda, the program brought about positive changes in the ways that participants approach their work, address challenges, and apply leading and managing practices to work with team members toward a common goal.
