Andualem Oumer is a supply chain and pharmaceutical management expert who has helped strengthen pharmaceutical systems in low- and middle-income countries around the world. He has built the capacity of more than 2,700 staff of ministries and partner organizations in supply chain management of health commodities and program management in more than 30 African, Asian, and European countries. He has also supported the assessment of pharmaceutical systems; development of strategic plans; facilitation of quantifications and development of tools and information management systems; and establishment and/or strengthening of governance systems, review and use guidelines, SOPs, and other documents related to supply chain management.

Through strong collaborations with professionals at the global and country levels, Oumer helped achieve increased availability of funds and grants for procurement and supply chain management of health commodities as well as increased availability of health products.

Oumer’s experience spans across all disease and programs areas, including HIV and AIDS, TB, malaria, maternal and reproductive health and family planning, vaccines, and other essential medicines and supplies. Additionally, Oumer is an experienced lecturer, hospital and clinic pharmacist, community pharmacist, research pharmacist, and pharmaceutical and medical representative. He holds a degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.
