Dr. Mohammad Homayoun Ludin oversees the Improving Quality of Care for High Impact Value Added Maternal and Newborn Interventions (IQoC-MNH) project in Afghanistan. He is an accomplished public health expert with more than 20 years of experience in health and nutrition, working both in Afghanistan and internationally. His extensive career includes senior technical and leadership roles such as Director of Public Nutrition, Project Manager at Management Sciences for Health, Senior Nutrition Adviser, and Health/Cluster Manager for the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS).

Dr. Ludin is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership, evidence-based approach, and commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes. He has played a key role in shaping national health and nutrition policies and has contributed significantly to capacity-building initiatives across the health sector.

In addition to his policy and programmatic work, Dr. Ludin has a strong academic background, serving as a lecturer in medical education institutions. He holds an MD and an MPH, and has completed a range of postgraduate trainings, including programs in India, Indonesia, Thailand, and through the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He also holds a World Bank flagship training certificate in health system strengthening.

His research and expertise are reflected in publications featured in prominent outlets such as the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal, Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN), Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the National Library of Medicine (NIH), and BMC’s Health Research Policy and Systems.
