Health Financing Senior Technical Director, Health Systems for Tuberculosis (HS4TB)
Saba Waseem is a Senior Technical Director on the HS4TB project, where she provides support in the areas of health finance, health systems strengthening, and quantitative research. She comes to MSH with experience working with the US Agency for International Development, the Global Fund, national statistical agencies and governments, the World Bank Group, and the Asian Development Bank.
Prior to joining MSH, Waseem worked at Palladium leading USAID’s ProtectHealth Project in the Philippines, which provides health financing support for TB, HIV, and family planning. She also led several health financing analyses for the Global Fund in West Africa and measurement and evaluation support for USAID’s IHP project in Nigeria. Before Palladium, Saba was at Abt Associates working on strategic purchasing for TB under the Health Finance and Governance Project. She is a member of the Global Fund Technical Review Panel, serving as focal point for the Strategic Investment and Sustainable Financing expert group. Waseem holds a PhD from Cornell University and a master’s degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
