Senior Principal Technical Advisor and Practice Lead for Strategic Information

Dr. Serge Xueref, a public health professional with multidisciplinary global health expertise, is currently Senior Principal Technical Advisor and Practice Lead for Strategic Information; leads our premier data collection platform, DREAM@MSH; and serves as Senior Principal Technical Advisor for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research based in Uganda. Dr. Xueref has experience fighting against communicable diseases on a global level and working in local health facilities and national governments in Africa. Dr. Xueref assists local governments in strengthening their national health information system and also supports our work in addressing key health challenges, such as the fight against HIV and AIDS. Previously, he supported MSH’s Gabon Health Reform Support Program and prior to his work with us, Dr. Xueref managed the evaluation unit of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria in Geneva and worked for WHO, PAHO, and PEPFAR. He has lived in Switzerland, the US, Nigeria, Madagascar, Gabon, and France and holds a doctorate in medical microbiology and a PhD in public health from the University of Lyon, France.
