Abstract

The surveillance of antimicrobial consumption (AMC) is critical to developing appropriate antimicrobial stewardship interventions. It is a key component of World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance and the Uganda Antimicrobial Resistance National Action Plan 2018–2023. The objective of this study was to determine the national consumption of all antimicrobials and determine the needs for antimicrobial stewardship interventions.
