Management Sciences for Health Appoints Marian Wentworth as New President and Chief Executive Officer

Medford, MA—March 1, 2017Management Sciences for Health (MSH) announced today the appointment of Marian Wentworth as its new President and Chief Executive Officer.  Wentworth succeeds  Dr. Jonathan D. Quick, MD, MPH, who remains with MSH as Senior Fellow.

Wentworth brings more than 25 years of experience managing and leading complex international public health initiatives at Merck & Co. In her most recent role there, she led global strategy across marketing, manufacturing, and research for a six billion dollar vaccines business. Previously, she managed a portfolio of adult vaccines for shingles, influenza, pneumococcal disease, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and tetanus. She also led the global sales and marketing launch of the world’s first cervical cancer vaccine, Gardasil.

Her decades of innovation in the pharmaceutical and private sectors complement MSH’s leadership on health systems strengthening. She is well positioned to lead MSH into the next decade.”

Wentworth has worked extensively with major policy decision-makers including Gavi, the World Health Organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and various ministries of health. She has a B.A. in mathematics from Harvard University and spent her early career as a consultant in operations management at Arthur D. Little, Inc.  Wentworth will join MSH full-time on March 13.
