Management Sciences for Health to Lead Organized Network of Services for Everyone’s Health Project in Malawi

Medford, MA—November 18, 2016—Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Organized Network of Services for Everyone’s Health (ONSE) project in Malawi.

The five-year, US $92.9 million project will support the Government of Malawi in its efforts to advance maternal, newborn, and child health through improved access to and quality of priority health services. The project will work across 16 districts in Malawi to strengthen district health systems and increase community demand for services across core technical areas: reproductive health/family planning (FP/RH), maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), malaria, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

“Malawi has made tremendous progress in recent years to tackle maternal, newborn, and child health,” said Catharine Taylor, Vice President of MSH’s Health Programs Group. “However, a persistent gap in access to quality priority health services remains among the hardest-to-reach districts. MSH has a long history in Malawi, and we are excited to have this opportunity to expand our work with the Ministry of Health, district leaders, and our partners to strengthen the delivery and demand for priority services that have the potential of improving hundreds of thousands of lives.”

MSH brings extensive experience in health systems strengthening, in the integration of health service delivery, and in building human and institutional capacity in health for the improvement of quality, coverage, and accountability of services. MSH will work in partnership with Banja La Mtsogolo (an affiliate of Marie Stopes International), Overseas Strategic Consulting, Ltd, VillageReach, Dimagi, and Development Innovations Group (DIG), US small business to implement innovative approaches for expanding access to quality services across the country.
