Management Sciences for Health Welcomes Dr. John Paul Clark to its Board of Directors

Arlington, VA—July 15, 2025—Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is proud to welcome renowned epidemiologist and health planner Dr. John Paul Clark to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Clark brings more than three decades of experience in global health leadership, policy, financing, and program implementation—spanning roles at the World Bank Group, USAID, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the World Health Organization. His expertise in health systems strengthening, epidemic preparedness, maternal and child health, and disease surveillance aligns closely with MSH’s mission to create lasting, locally led health solutions.

“Dr. Clark has spent his career championing access to health care and strengthening the institutions that deliver it,” said MSH President and CEO Marian W. Wentworth. “His profound experience, strategic insight, and commitment to public health will be a tremendous asset to MSH as we continue our work to ensure health systems are resilient, responsive, and rooted in country leadership.”

Recently retired from the World Bank as Lead Health Specialist in the Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice, Dr. Clark’s previous roles include leading country operations at the Global Financing Facility during the COVID-19 pandemic and designing and overseeing the World Bank’s Regional Disease Surveillance Systems Enhancement (REDISSE) program. He was instrumental in the design and launch of malaria control strategies and programs, including the Roll Back Malaria Partnership at WHO, the President’s Malaria Initiative at USAID and the Department of Health and Human Services, and the World Bank’s Booster Program for Malaria Control in Africa.

A globally respected thought leader, Dr. Clark has advanced technical innovation and cross-sectoral partnerships in communicable disease control, maternal and child health, and pandemic preparedness and response across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

“I am honored to join MSH’s Board of Directors,” said Dr. Clark. “I have long admired MSH’s work to strengthen health systems, and I look forward to supporting the organization’s efforts to deliver practical, sustainable solutions that improve lives around the world.”
