Mapping Misoprostol for Postpartum Hemorrhage: Regional Reports
Mapping Misoprostol for Postpartum Hemorrhage: Regional Reports
East Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, Francophone West Africa
In 2010 and 2011, Family Care International conducted mappings in five regions: Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Francophone West Africa, East Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and South Asia. Each document is available in English; when relevant to the region, they are available in French and Spanish as well. These mappings identified the major policy challenges and opportunities related to introducing and improving access to misoprostol for preventing and/or treating postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), the leading cause of maternal death and disability. The reports identify the advocacy goals, messages, and strategies used by organizations working on misoprostol for PPH at the regional level; advocacy and policy priorities and challenges; and opportunities for advocacy and policy change at the regional, and country levels.
