Management Sciences for Health Fully Supports President Biden’s Plan to End the COVID-19 Pandemic

Arlington, VA—September 21, 2021—Management Sciences for Health (MSH) applauds and thanks US President Joe Biden for his leadership toward ending the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, both in the US and worldwide. As a global health nonprofit that works with leaders in low- and middle-income countries to build strong, equitable, and sustainable health systems, MSH is on the frontlines of the battle against COVID-19 in 36 countries.

President Biden’s COVID-19 summit, on the margins of the UN General Assembly, marks an important moment to accelerate global action to end this pandemic and prevent the next one.

We need strong global leadership and accountability measures that work in coordination across all efforts in the US and abroad. We must invest in global health initiatives that take into account climate change, deforestation, and wildlife trade. These will both stop zoonotic spillover events closer to the source and protect our planet.

MSH commits to strengthening health systems, improving health supply chain management, increasing access to essential medicines and vaccines, developing the public health workforce, and responding to the needs of the most vulnerable in the countries where we work.

MSH stands ready to support these efforts and calls on the international community and governments, the private sector, civil society, and philanthropic organizations to join together to end this pandemic now.
