Management Sciences for Health Thanks Outgoing Board Member Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate for His Service
Arlington, VA––September 18, 2023––Management Sciences for Health (MSH) thanks Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate for his service on the MSH Board of Directors, as he steps down from this role in which he has served since January 2022. Dr. Pate recently accepted an appointment as Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare in his home country of Nigeria.
During Dr. Pate’s tenure on the MSH Board, the organization incorporated and institutionalized lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic and launched a new seven-year strategy for the organization, linked to the commitments of the United Nations 2030 agenda for sustainable development and recommitting to the deep, local partnerships that have characterized its 52-year history.

Wentworth. “His insights and on-the-ground experience have helped us sharpen our approaches to addressing some of the world’s most pressing public health challenges.”
MSH has worked in Nigeria for more than 20 years. It is MSH’s largest base of operations, with a regional office supporting the global organization and projects including the US President’s Malaria Initiative for States, the Nigeria Global Fund Malaria project, the Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program, and the Tobacco Policy Action Fund for Africa. MSH is committed to the health of the Nigerian people and their journey toward Universal Health Coverage.
