    Kwesi Eghan

    Principal Technical Advisor

    Kwesi Eghan, MSc, MBA, BPharm, is a Principal Technical Advisor for the USAID-funded MTaPS Project. Previously at MSH, Eghan served as Portfolio Manager for the Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) Program in South Sudan and the Strengthening Pharmaceutical Systems (SPS) project in Afghanistan. He also leads the Medicines Benefits Management (MBM) work of MSH's Center for Pharmaceutical Management. Eghan was a primary facilitator for the development of the National Health Insurance Policy Framework and the Health Insurance Act (Act 650) of Ghana. As a member of the government-appointed National Health Insurance Council of Ghana, he served as head of the national medicines and tariffs committee with oversight responsibility for the development and implementation of the initial reimbursable drug list, pricing and costing of procedures, and establishments of tariff for the reimbursement of health services and medicines for improved quality of care. Eghan, a pharmacist, has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, public and private sector health financing, design of community and national health insurance systems, and program management of HIV & AIDS, NTDs, tuberculosis, and malaria initiatives.
