Dr. Damian Walker has more than 20 years of experience in global health economics and financing. Before joining MSH, Dr. Walker was the Deputy Director of the Strategy, Data, and Analytics team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Walker has been instrumental in supporting global and national systems and processes to use data and evidence to inform policy decision-making, including the International Decision Support Initiative and the Disease Control Priorities Network.
He has held positions as an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins University; Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington; Adjunct Scientist, International Centre of Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh; and International Visiting Faculty Member of the James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, Bangladesh. He is also a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development. Dr. Walker has a PhD in health economics from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
