Dr. Mohan P. Joshi has more than three decades of health experience, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), rational medicine use, drug use review, drug information, hospital formularies, Drug and Therapeutics Committees, medicine adherence, pharmacovigilance, clinical pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, curriculum review, and medical education. He was formerly Principal Technical Advisor and technical lead for the SIAPS Program, responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight in the planning and implementation of rational medicine use and AMR-related activities. From 2003 to 2011, he headed the AMR portfolio under the SPS and RPM Plus Programs. He also served as SPS country program manager for Jordan and Vietnam. Before joining MSH, Dr. Joshi worked as the assistant dean, professor, and head of clinical pharmacology and director of the Drug Information Center at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Institute of Medicine and TU Teaching Hospital in Nepal. He was also a member of the International Health Expert Advisory Panel of the US Pharmacopeia. Dr. Joshi’s first degree is in medicine and his postgraduate degrees are in clinical pharmacology and pharmacology.
