Since 2015, Uganda has been implementing the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) to strengthen its capacity in line with World Health Organization (WHO) benchmarks for International Health Regulations. Despite these efforts, Uganda remains vulnerable to disease outbreaks, having reported more than 20 outbreaks over the past five years, including Ebola, yellow fever, COVID-19, and cholera. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to be a persistent challenge. This paper outlines the technical assistance provided to Uganda by the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program, led by Management Sciences for Health, through a One Health approach.
