Abstract

A new study on the impact of Good Pharmacy Practices training among Grade C pharmacists in Bangladesh found that those who completed the training showed significant improvements in dispensing behavior as compared to those who had not. Grade C pharmacists—registered pharmacists who have completed some education and training, but do not hold an academic degree—play a crucial role in providing pharmaceutical services in Bangladesh.

The study, co-authored by MSH’s Raian Amzad and Abul Azad from the Better Health in Bangladesh project, identifies several challenges to achieving good pharmacy practices in the country, including inadequate infrastructure, lack of regulatory enforcement, and limited access to quality medicines, and recommends a multi-pronged approach to addressing them.
