New eLearning Courses for Antimicrobial Resistance, Good Governance in Pharmaceutical Sector
The US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded, Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) Program, led by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), launched two new courses for the pharmaceutical sector on USAID’s Global Health eLearning Center.
Good Governance in the Management of Medicines
Governance issues permeate all levels of the pharmaceutical sector and heavily influence the availability and accessibility of medicines and other health commodities. Good Governance in the Management of Medicines explores how good governance encourages better management and reduces opportunities for corruption in the pharmaceutical sector.
The free, 3-hour course is intended for health care workers, policy makers, program managers, government officials, and others interested learning more about these issues as well as proven approaches, strategies, and interventions that can help foster better governance in the management of medicines.

Antimicrobial Resistance (Part 2)
Part 2 of the SIAPS-authored course on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) expands upon concepts presented in Part 1 and explains the major factors that contribute to the development and spread of AMR. The course also explores some of the proven interventions and global strategies currently being used to combat AMR, reviews antimicrobial and vaccine development, and details the effects of globalization and societal shifts on AMR.
