Nepal

In 1975, we began working in Nepal and led the first USAID-funded health program in the country. Activities since that time have included building the organizational capacity of the Family Planning Association of Nepal, assisting the government in pharmaceutical management, and strengthening leadership and management capacity at all levels.

Overview

To support improvements in health services and outcomes in Nepal, we have strengthened the management and leadership capacity of health leaders responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating health and social services. Our programs in Nepal aided the Ministry of Health and Population’s pharmaceutical governance, improved the availability of drugs for priority diseases, modernized the country’s regulatory information system for medicines, and addressed antimicrobial resistance at the national and district levels.
