David Humphries

Chief Communications & External Affairs Officer

David Humphries is Chief Communications & External Affairs Officer at Management Sciences for Health. Since 2000, Humphries has led strategic communications and government relations teams, and has led communications strategies in countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia in the nonprofit, government and private sector.

Prior to MSH, Humphries was Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs at Global Communities. There, he successfully launched the organization’s media and Congressional relations functions and, in 2012, developed and led the rebranding strategy from CHF International to Global Communities.

His previous roles include leading the press office of the National Archives of the United Kingdom and five years focusing on education communications. Originally from Scotland, Humphries has lived and worked in the USA, Japan and the UK and has an MA and an MPhil in literature from the University of Cambridge. Humphries is a prize-winning playwright and a 2013 recipient of PR Week’s 40 Under 40 award.
