National Dialogue, Mexico: Improving Maternal Health Measurement Capacity and Use
Supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and led by the Women and Health Initiative (W&HI) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health on behalf of the Strategies toward Ending Preventable Maternal Mortality (EPMM) working group, the Improving Maternal Health Measurement (IMHM) project is working to advance maternal health measurement capacity through the development and validation of indicators to inform global standards and encourage their adoption and use through targeted engagement and support to countries.
The national dialogue in Mexico was part of a series of seven national dialogues being organized by the White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) and the FCI Program of Management Sciences for Health (FCI-MSH), under the IMHM umbrella, to collect input from a range of stakeholders on national priorities for addressing maternal mortality and to bring a focus on the social determinants of maternal health and survival. To address the broad spectrum of factors impacting maternal survival, these dialogues seek to encourage integration of EPMM strategies as well as adoption and use of EPMM indicators into national policies, plans, and frameworks.
