Addressing Key Health Challenges
Addressing Key Health Challenges
Whether it is designing a new approach to fight TB or addressing the increasing burden of noncommunicable diseases, we bring more than 50 years of experience and technical expertise to bear on some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.
We work side-by-side with public, private, and community partners at all levels of the health system to develop the skills they need to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health threats that imperil people’s lives and wellbeing.
Pandemic Preparedness and Response
We build capacity at all levels of a health system to strengthen disease surveillance systems, reinforce strong national public health systems and workforces, and introduce the tools needed to prevent and control infectious diseases.
Tuberculosis
We apply evidence-informed knowledge and technical expertise to highly complex environments, where TB services are most desperately needed.
Malaria
We work to ensure access to lifesaving medicines and diagnostics and that health providers at all levels of the health system have the skills to effectively diagnose and treat malaria.
HIV and AIDS
We build public- and private-sector capacity worldwide to prevent, treat, and manage HIV and AIDS and build systems that deliver gender-responsive, high-quality HIV services.
Women’s, Children’s, and Adolescents’ Health
We actively engage women, children, and adolescents in the design and implementation of culturally respectful interventions that meet their needs and ensure good health throughout their lifetime.
Noncommunicable Diseases
For over 50 years, we have been strengthening health systems to facilitate integrated screening and treatment interventions necessary to stem the tide of noncommunicable diseases.
