Integrated Health Project Plus
Integrated Health Project Plus
Overview
The Integrated Health Project Plus (IHPplus) partnered with the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to strengthen the country’s health system at every level. Activities focused on maternal, newborn, and child health; family planning; nutrition; malaria; TB; HIV and AIDS; and water, sanitation, and hygiene—applying proven, low-cost, high-impact innovations on a large scale. The project’s health systems strengthening component included improved implementation of selected policies, program advocacy, and decision making, particularly at the provincial level.
Funded by USAID, IHPplus was a three-year “bridge” to avoid a gap in services in 126 target health zones upon completion of the five-year USAID-funded Integrated Health Project. We implemented IHPplus with Overseas Strategic Consulting, Ltd. under a subcontract via Pathfinder/Evidence to Action.
