Health For All Project Brochure
The Health for All (HFA) Project (April 2017– September 2019) was funded by USAID, led by Population Services International, and implemented in partnership with Management Sciences for Health (MSH) and local partners Rede de Mulheres Angolanas and the MENTOR Initiative.
MSH led implementation of the project’s work on HIV and AIDS at seven health facilities selected by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief across the province of Luanda. Working with the Government of Angola, HFA developed a sustainable model of high-quality integrated care for people living with HIV, including HIV/tuberculosis co-infection and HIV/family planning integration.
Working with health facility management, National Institute for the Fight against AIDS, and local government partners, HFA identified new approaches and technologies to improve quality of care, including:
- Active search through the index case testing and treatment strategy
- TB testing through GeneXpert
- HIV viral load collection and analysis
- TB and HIV care integration
- Family planning and HIV services integration
- Lost to follow-up active search
- Newly diagnosed HIV-positive patients linked to care with patient assistant facilitators
- Development and implementation of standard operating procedures for each health facility
- Microplanning and quarterly evaluation, monitoring, and supervision
