Telephone Monitoring to Improve IPT Uptake: Experience from Tigray, Ethiopia

Ethiopia is among high TB-HIV burden countries and uptake of live-saving treatment among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) has remained low at the national level. Through the USAID-funded Challenge TB project and the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health a comprehensive package of program support was provided that included mentoring and supportive supervision, regular quarterly program review meetings, and TB-related formal trainings and material support. This technical highlight describes the innovative approaches used to role out a TB/HIV package of program support, key achievements, and lessons learned.
